Verification of scale effects on the erodibility of cohesive sediment samples
descriptionExperimental investigations on sediment samples with regard to critical shear stresses and erosion rates, scale effects can be expected due to the form and size of the sediment samples. This study aims to investigate scale effects starting with artificial sediment samples on various non cohesive mixtures. Afterwards the experiments will be extended by adding various contents of cohesive sediments. The investigated variables will include critical shear stresses and erosion rates, which both will be measured in a laboratory flume (SETEG). Finally, the investigation could be extended to natural sediment samples.
