Binary porous media are composed of two materials having differenthydraulic properties. According to the asymptotic homogenization theory, the unsaturated flow in such type of media is described with variousmodels, depending on the ratio of the hydraulic diffusivity of the twocomponents and the connectivity of the most conductive component. It canbe shown that a continuous passage between various models exist. It isalso possible to deduce a generalized model, suitable for the entire rangeof the diffusivity ratio. The obtained results are compared with othermodels that can be found in the literature.
