DG method has proved to be accurate for convection-diffusion problems because DG methods have many good properties such as locality, local mass conservativity and high order convergence rate. In my talk, I will show briefly how to form a DG scheme and some theoretical results. Then I apply DG method to CO2 sequestration problem (a nonlinear convection dominated diffusion problem) using fully coupled full implicit scheme. Numerical results with expected convergence rates in one dimension are presented.
