On 1st February 2026, Caroline Heckel joined the Department of Hydromechanics and Modelling of Hydrosystems as an academic assistant. Caroline Heckel studied simulation technology at the University of Stuttgart.
In her master's thesis, Caroline Heckel dealt with data-driven drag term formulations for Brinkman-type models using pore-resolved simulations.
Her doctoral project is supervised by Jun.-Prof. Timo Koch. She plans to conduct research on the topic "Fluid-structure interaction of thin fluid films and soft or porous materials".
