The Kimberly-Clark Distinguished Lectureship Award is presented annually to an internationally recognised researcher and represents significant added value for InterPore. It is closely aligned with the society's objectives: promoting research in the field of porous media and strengthening ties within the community. The respective award winner acts as an important ambassador for InterPore.

The numerous invitations to give lectures that Rainer Helmig has received demonstrate the attractiveness of the research field of porous media and the internationally oriented network to which Rainer Helmig and the Stuttgart research group belong. During his travels, Rainer Helmig was able to cultivate scientific and personal exchanges, strengthen professional networks and establish new contacts.
