Dr. Robin Leister is leading the team at the Hydraulics Laboratory at the Department of Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources Management since 1 July 2025.

Dr. Robin Leister is leading the team at the Hydraulics Laboratory at the Department of Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources Management since 1 July 2025. In addition to acquiring and designing research projects related to flows in watercourses and their experimental measurement, he will advance issues of sediment transport and their metrological developments, especially in the field of laser-optical measurement techniques.

Dr. Leister received his doctorate from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in 2022, completed a stay abroad at Queen's University, Ontario, Canada, as a guest researcher (postdoc) and deepened his knowledge until June 2025 as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Fluid Mechanics, researching turbulent flows using volumetric, time-resolved velocity techniques such as the novel shake-the-box method.
