March 29, 2022 /

The Department of Hydromechanics and Modelling of Hydrosystems (LH2), the Ecole Nationale d'Ingénieurs de Tunis (ENIT), and Project Ö of SFB 1313 have again successfully applied for the DAAD-Programme “Combined study and practical stays for engineers from developing countries” (KOSPIE) for the year 2022/23

The Department of Hydromechanics and Modelling of Hydrosystems (LH2),the Ecole Nationale d'Ingénieurs de Tunis (ENIT) , and Project Ö of SFB 1313 have again successfully applied for the international DAAD exchange programme “Combined study and practical stays for engineers from developing countries” (KOSPIE) and are jointly coordinating it. The programme is to start in the academic year of 2022/23 and allows two Masters’ students of the ENIT to join the research teams of LH2 and SFB 1313 and to write their final project ("projet fin d'études") under supervision of our researchers.

About KOSPIE

As part of this programme, a maxiumum of two students enrolled at the ENIT are invited to apply for a 6-month scholarship at the Department of Hydromechanics and Modelling of Hydrosystems (LH2) at the Institute for Modelling Hydraulic and Environmental Systems of the University of Stuttgart. At the moment, the two ENIT students Hsine Ben Hrouz and Wafa Abdellaoui are both receiving the DAAD KOSPIE scholarship for the academic year 2021/22. They are staying at LH2 from February to August 2022.

There has been a very successful cooperation in the field of environmental research between LH2 and Dr. Emna Meijri from ENIT for almost ten years. The focus of this collaboration is the development of models for the analysis and prediction of salt spreading processes in the subsurface and in historic buildings. This topic is especially also relevant for SFB 1313's porous media research as salt precipitation is a main topic within its research area C and one of its vision topics. The existing research cooperation between both institutions is a fruitful basis to give ENIT Masters’ students insights into the work of the University of Stuttgart and its non-university partners.
