DWA Ehrennadel award for Prof. Dr.-Ing. Silke Wieprecht
The Honor Commission of the Deutsche Vereinigung für Wasserwirtschaft, Abwasser und Abfall, DWA, awarded Prof. Dr.-Ing. Silke Wieprecht the DWA Ehrennadel in September 2023. The Ehrennadel honors members who promoted the DWA through extraordinary activity during the last years.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Silke Wieprecht, head of the Dept. of Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources Management at the University of Stuttgart, is particularly known for her contributions, expertise, and accomplishments on morphodynamic processes in rivers, sediment management in river basins, river engineering, and hydraulic engineering. Additionally, she contributes to the DWA in her role of chair of the main committee "Hydraulic Engineering and Hydropower".
Prof. Wieprecht also is a member of the DWA Executive Board and Chair of the Coordination Group of Main Committee Chairs. In addition, she serves as a member of the jury for the DWA Klimapreis and she has chaired the jury for the DWA Gewässerentwicklungspreis since 2023. As Chair of the main committee "Hydraulic Engineering and Hydropower", she is also member of the editorial advisory board of the DWA magazine.
