Zhixin Chen joins the LH2 as postdoctoral researcher

December 2, 2024 /

Since 1st December 2024, Zhixin Chen works as academic assistant at the Department of Hydromechanics and Modeling of Hydrosystems

On 1st December 2024, Zhixin Chen joined the Department of Hydromechanics and Modeling of Hydrosystems. Zhixin Chen studied “Civil Engineering” at Hunan University in China. In October 2024, he successfully passed his doctoral examination at Tsinghua University in Beijing.

Zhixin is interested in the fundamental physics of fluid flow and transport within environmental systems in Earth’s subsurface. His current research encompasses multi-scale numerical modeling and experimental studies of nonisothermal multiphase fluid flow and transport in porous media. Specifically, his work focuses on the remediation of persistent organic contaminants in the vadose zone through multi-component steam injection, as well as the evaporation-driven salt precipitation processes at the land surface.

We are very much looking forward to a fruitful collaboration with Zhixin Chen!
