This talk presents the numerical techniques for and the results ofsimulations of structured populations fully coupled with the flow in astirred tank. As a prototype for such a system, crystal growth andattrition in a stirred crystallizer is considered. The main difficultyof the numerical treatment of the considered population models is theefficient computation of the integral term. Besides, the populationmodel extends the fluid dynamics with additional dimensions. Oursimulation involves the parallel computations and the adaptiverefinement of the grid.
