Andrés Heredia joins IWS

Andrés Heredia joined the Institute for Modelling Hydraulic and Environmental Systems (IWS).

Andrés Heredia graduated from the international degree program Water Resources Engineering and Management (WAREM)  at the University of Stuttgart in 2019. In his Master thesis, he kicked off a new type of AI-informed calibration to improve the numerical modeling of rivers. After several years of new experience gained at the Salesian Polytechnic University in Ecuador, he takes up the latest research in Bayesian calibration techniques to accomplish his PhD on “Hybrid three-dimensional numerical and data-driven simulation of hydraulic exchange processes and nature-based solutions” within the International Doctoral Program 'Environment Water' (ENWAT),  funded by DAAD’s GSSP  framework.

IWS wishes welcome to Andrés Heredia!
