Felix Beckers successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled "Investigations on Functional Relationships between Cohesive Sediment Erosion and Sediment Characteristics" at the IWS on May 21, 2021. The LWW (Department of Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources Management) team is pleased to congratulate Felix Beckers on his successful PhD defense and wishes him all the best for his future career.

Felix Beckers presented his research results during his doctoral examination on May 22, 2021. The examination committee appointed by the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the University of Stuttgart consisted of Prof. Christian Moormann as chair, Prof. Silke Wieprecht as main examiner and Prof. Jochen Aberle from the University of Braunschweig as co-examiner.

Mr. Beckers wrote his doctoral thesis on "Investigations on Functional Relationships between Cohesive Sediment Erosion and Sediment Characteristics" within the research project CHARM (https://www.project.uni-stuttgart.de/charm/). During his research, Mr. Beckers investigated the erosion behavior as well as erosion stability and their functional relationships with physical, chemical, and biological sediment parameters of natural reservoir sediments. Felix Beckers has already presented his research results at several international conferences and published them in international journals.
