Feasibility study ISCO at the site 'Biswurm"

Abstract

In order to test the feasibility of the innovative in situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) remediation technology in the deep section of fractured rock at the Biswurm site, a feasibility study was conducted to investigate the principal application in the aquifer of the fractured crystalline sandstone and provide a first indication of the cost estimate of an in-situ remediation with ISCO. For the upper part of the aquifer and the unsaturated zone, the thermal in-situ remediation process by steam-air injection was planned. For this purpose, a feasibility study was also prepared and then a pilot study was also carried out (see sep. projects).
