PROMOTE: Efficiency control and certification of improved remediation and monitoring approaches for soil-groundwater systems

The goal of the EU-Project PROMOTE (FP6-2004-Global-3) was to set up an efficiency control and performance verification (ECV) system for novel, improved and reliable techniques and approaches for soil-groundwater protection and rehabilitation. This was directly related to the ongoing ETAP process where a lack of confidence in novel technologies and approaches has been listed as one of the most prominent barriers for technology implementation. A widely accepted and reliable system for performance verification and verification was identified as a key tool to overcome this barrier. Therefore the main objective of PROMOTE was to develop and implement such a key tool for efficiency control and performance verification for monitoring and remediation approaches in soil-groundwater systems.
