SimTech-Project: Vascular graph model embedded in a bio-tissue to simulate the blood flow and transport processes in realistic vascular networks and vascualar and tumoral growth

Department of Hydromechanics and Modelling of Hydrosystems

Funded by the Cluster of Exzellence "Simtech" from 1st November 2014 to 1st November 2017

Description

The transport of injected drug molecules within the blood vessel system is simulated using avascular graph model. This includes aspects of modelling flow and transport processes acrossthe vascular walls into the surrounding tissue and the transport through the interstitial spacetowards the tumour. In addition, the interaction of the spatial therapeutic distribution with localsystems-biological issues is considered. Vascular and tumoral growth models are developed.
