Welcome to the internet site of the Department of Hydromechanics and Modelling of Hydrosystems (LH2)! We are part of the Institute for Modelling Hydraulic and Environmental Systems (IWS) of the Faculty for Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Stuttgart.
Our teaching and research is mainly concerned with flow and transport processes in coupled systems in and with porous media. Our projects focus on the modeling of multiphase and multicomponent processes, discretization and solution methods, and the development and application of research software. We collaborate closely with national and international partners, and regularly welcome visiting researchers to our institute, further enriching scientific exchange and collaboration.
