It is known that dilution is the process that leads to mixing between two non-sorbing compounds, which may finally result in the reaction between the two, in a porous medium. Therefore, it is important to accurately quantify dilution in order to determine the exact reaction rates. Although several numerical and theoretical studies on better estimation of dilution exist, only a few experimental studies were done to validate the theoretical developments. In this talk, results from one such experimental investigations on some of those theoretical concepts will be shown.
